This is Telephonics Flame Proof Navy key, model CTE-26003A.
The contacts on these keys are enclosed in the base so they could
be used in the presence of explosive fumes or vapors on ships. This
one appears to have been used very little and may have been surplus.
Bendix, McElroy, and others manufactured these keys under contract
to the U.S. Navy.
