After struggling with an illness, VE7OGW Butch had an Anurizem and passed away at 1:15am, March 15th, 2007 at Eagle Ridge Hospital. Butch was a strong supporter of the GVRG, always checking into the net, and keeping a watch out for others if they needed help. He was a gentleman and a friend to all. He will be sorely missed.  
WASHER _ Oliver (Butch) passed away on March 15, 2007 at Eagle Ridge
Hospital surrounded by family. Predeceased by father and mother Oliver
and Margaret Washer and wife Linda. Survived by daughter Heather
(Jeremy), son Rob (Cindy), son George (Meighan), 9 grandchildren,
sisters, Kitty and Harriet, several nieces and nephews, and many
friends. Funeral will be held at First Memorial Burkeview Chapel, 1340
Dominion Ave., Port Coquitlam, 604-944-4128 at 2:00 pm on March 20th.

 I wanted to share with you some of the situations I've gotten myself into as I gather door prizes for our annual GVRG field day.
I've gotten pretty good with the ladies at the cosmetic counters. Usually I'm able to ask for samples without having to do anything. Sometimes I have to sit through counsulations while they litterally muck with my face before I can have the samples... Write Comment (5 Comments) |

November 19, 2006 we had a special visitor. Jae Myung Choi, HL2TCY from Suwon in Korea. We had dim sum, followed by a trip to the radio museum and visit to the Coquitlam club radio room. Below is his QSL card. If you click on the image you can see the photos we took:
